How to use these exercises
- Read the question first. A card about a choice means something different in a business question than in a question about dating.
- Look at each position. A card describing the problem does not automatically tell you what to do.
- Connect the cards in a short answer. What does the second card add to the first? What practical next step fits this particular question?

One reading that fits
You can be angry and still choose how you speak. Strength asks you to manage the urge to win the argument; Temperance suggests a conversation you can both stay in. Start with one issue, listen to her answer, and leave the rest for another day if you need to.
Why it fits the cards
- Strength shows a woman handling a lion without a weapon: restraint, rather than overpowering the other person.
- Temperance mixes water between two cups. In an approach position, that fits adjustment and exchange rather than insisting on your original terms.
Change the positions
Put Temperance in the problem position and you might be compromising too much. Strength as advice could then ask you to hold a boundary calmly, rather than offer another concession.
A mistake to avoid
Patience does not mean accepting every demand. These cards cannot guarantee that your sister will respond well.
If Temperance is reversed
Consider whether the conversation keeps swinging between silence and an explosion. A short break and a clear limit may help more than another attempt to smooth everything over.
Your wording can differ. Check whether your reading answers the question and whether you can point to the cards and positions to explain it.

Compare your reasoning, not your wording
There is no score here. Two readings can use different words and still fit the cards. Ask whether your answer addresses the question, respects the positions, and explains how the cards connect. If you could swap in almost any card without changing your answer, try making it more specific.
The notes also show how different positions or a reversed card could change the reading. These are fictional situations for learning. A card does not establish someone else’s private feelings or guarantee what will happen.
